Tajweed Guide

The colour coding follows the standard Hafs Tajweed Quran.

Ikhfa — Light Blue

Hiding the noon sakinah or tanween with a nasal sound when followed by one of 15 letters.

مِن شَرِّ

Ghunnah — Orange

A nasal humming sound held for two counts on a shaddah over noon or meem.

إِنَّ — النَّاسِ

Ikhfa Meem Saakin — Pink

When meem saakin is followed by ba, the meem is hidden with a nasal sound.

هُم بِهِ

Idgham — Dark Green

Merging the noon sakinah or tanween into the following letter.

مِن نَّعِيمٍ

Qalqalah — Red

A slight echoing sound on the letters ق ط ب ج د when they appear with sukoon.

قُلْ — الْفَلَقِ

Qalb — Purple

When noon sakinah or tanween is followed by ba, the noon converts to a meem sound.

مِنۢ بَعْدِ
